KSC Fun Day 14th July 2013

Many of you will know that every year we have a Fun Day with games on the Leisure Centre/School field [or in the event of a downpour, in the sports hall] and then games in the pool in the evening.

This year we hope you will join us for either or both. Bring a picnic and/or get something from the BBQ. The proceeds from the sale of food will be going towards a fund-raising appeal from the family of Abbey Kerry for the Oncology Ward at QMC and the Ryan Lee Trust so please dig deep and give generously.

Entry forms for the fun gala will be e-mailed out to those we have up to date e-mail addresses for and there will be a few forms at the desk.

If any parents would like to help please give your names to the desk.

A Message from Amber

Hi everyone,

I normally do the Race for Life most years, but this year I wanted to do something a but more challenging for myself. So I have decided to attempt to swim the distance of the English Channel in Kimberley's pool.  It's 1770 lengths and I am doing it in public swim sessions (paid for by myself).  I am going to attempt to do this in 17 hours hopefully over a 10 day period. I have chosen to swim for When You Wish Upon a Star. Which is a charity devoted to help terminally ill and severely disabled children achieve their dreams and wishes. If you could take the time to look at my page and maybe sponsor me a pound or two. I would be ever so grateful. I will also leave a sponsor page on the desk.  Many thanks.

A message from Rebecca

Hi all,

Just to let you know I will be going to America on Friday 7th June, to be part of Camp America. At my camp, which is in New York, I will be mainly lifeguarding and teaching swimming but also taking part in other activities whilst looking after the children. I will not be back in the UK until Thursday 15th August so I would like all the swimmers I usually take, which is lane 5 of improvers and lanes 2 and 3 of squad to think about a few things. The focus points should be; making sure you have a drink at every session you attend and drinking it, practice touching with two hands on breaststroke and butterfly on all turns and finishes, finishing on your back on backstroke, streamlining off every push off and enjoy yourself.

I hope everyone has a lovely summer and I will see you when I get back.

Thanks
Rebecca Barsby
