SPORTS CENTRE LEAGUE
On the 23rd November the Clubs Swimmers competed in the Sports Centre League at Hucknall Leisure Centre, where they finished runners up on the night and runners up in Division 3 of the league.
First places went to - Gemma Calder x 2, Molllie Wright x 2, Bradley Francis, Charly Neilson, Katie Walker, Joseph Kingsland, Tanishia Howell, Mathew Shipley, Ben Barsby, Jimi Knowles and the following relay teams - the 9yrs and under mixed 4 x 25m freestyle relay, 10/13 boys 4 x 25m medley relay, girls 14 and over medley relay and the 20 x 25m mixed canon relay.
Special mentions go to Katie Walker who achieved the 12 year olds 50m back county time and to the following swimmers who all achieved personal bests - Jack Brown, Gemma Calder, Jade Calder, Aiden Williamson, Ben Barsby, Bradley Francis x 2, Katie Walker, Tyler Meads, Katie Horner, Nathan Venn, Tanishia Howell, Elliot and Emma Clements
J C DOBB MEMORIAL TROPHY – 2013
Saturday night 30/11/2013 saw Kimberley Swimming Club swimmers compete in the autumn competition of the JC Dobb Memorial Trophy. On the night Kimberley came 2nd although overall they won.
1st places went to Callum Williamson, Eve McGrenaghan, Gemma Calder, Katie Horner, Jade Duffy, Tyler Meads, and the relay teams –
Will Moore, Matthew Fearn, Thomas Reeves and Alex Cooke,
Dan Knowles, Jack Brown, Gemma Calder and Lauren Wright,
Ellie Knowles, Florence Orme, Matthew Fearn and Aiden Williamson.
Special mentions go to Heidi Fletcher-Smith and Maisie Woolis on their first gala for the club and to Callum Williamson, Will Moore, Katie Horner, Tyler Meads, Matthew Fearn, Nathan Venn, Olivia Buxton, Joseph Banner, Heidi Fletcher-Smith, Florence Orme x2, Maisie Woolis x2 and Alex Cooke x2 on achieving personal bests.
Kimberley Swimming Club members attend Broxtowe Sports Review Evening
Congratulations to Kimberley Swimming Club members who attended the Broxtowe Sports Review evening on Sunday the 1st of December, at the East Midlands Conference Centre, as a result of being nominated for a selection of awards.
The evening recognises achievements, talent and dedication shown by people in the Broxtowe area, individuals, teams, clubs and volunteers that have dedicated hours to support hundreds of local people involved in sport.
Kimberley Swimming Club & Nova Centurion swimmer Emily Anthony was nominated for the Disabled Sports Person of the year award, which she went on to win in recognition of all her hours swimming and medal achievements in the Regional Disability Championships.
Also nominated were Mathew Shipley – Young Sports Person of the Year, Amie Cheese - Young Volunteer of the Year, Rebecca Barsby – Volunteer of the Year, The KSC Diddy League Squad – Team of the Year and the KSC under 10’s Girls Gold and Silver winning county Relay Teams – Team of the Year, all of whom received certificates in recognition of their achievements and dedication to the club.
