The 15th and 16th of March saw Kimberley Swimming Club Age Group swimmers (aged 9 - 14yrs) competing in the 2nd weekend of the Nott's ASA County Championships.
With a full weekend of events there were plenty of Kimberley swimmers in action, getting personal bests, podium positions and Regional and National times.
Top six and final positions went to -
Jimi Knowles - 3rd 9/10yrs 200m IM, 2nd 50m freestyle,
Eleanor Aboutorab - 2nd in the heats 9/10yrs 200m fly, 6th in the 200m backstroke heats & final, 3rd in the 200m IM heats and 5th in the final
Ted Goonan-Dunne - 4th in the 9/10yrs 50m freestyle,
Imogen Spouge - 6th in the heats 200m fly and 3rd in the final, 6th in the 200m IM heats and 4th in the final
Charley Neilson - 3rd 13/14yrs 400IM and 1st 13/14yrs 200m breaststroke
Matthew Shipley - 2nd 11/12yrs 200m IM in a National Qualifying time, 1st in the 50m freestyle, 2nd in the 11/12yrs 200m breaststroke heats and 3rd in the final, 3rd in the 1500m freestyle, 1st 400m IM, 1st 100m freestyle,
Joseph Kingsland - 3rd 11/12yrs 200m IM, 4th in the 200m breaststroke heats and 1st in the final, 5th 400m IM,
Charly Neilson - 1st in the 13/14yrs 100m breaststroke
Bradley Francis - 2nd in the heats of the 11/12yrs fly and 3rd in the final,
Overall top 10 positions, based on points from events completed in the different categories so far go to -
9yrs - Lewis Rounce 10th, Jessica Shephard 2nd, Livia Kingsland 3rd
10yrs - Jimi Knowles 3rd, Ted Goonan - Dunne 7th, Imogen Spouge 3rd, Eleanor Aboutorab 6th, Lauren Shipley 9th,
11yrs - Joseph Kingsland 2nd, Bradley Francis 5th, Chloe Bis 9th
12yrs - Matthew Shipley 1st
14yrs - Charly Neilson 6th
At the same championships Jacqueline Jenkins-Weller aged 11yrs competed in the multi disability 50m freestyle event and came 3rd whilst Sophie Woodward finish 4th with a seven second p.b.
Well done to all swimmers who achieved personal bests, regional and national qualifying times and good luck on the final day of the Championships, the 30th of March, when the results of the final events the 50m breaststroke and certainly the 100m IM could make all the difference to the overall leader boards.
Also good luck to all Kimberley swimmers competing in the county relay events on this day.
Come on Kimberley go for gold ......
