Notts ASA Satge One Gala

Saturday the 14th of June saw the younger Kimberley Swimming Club swimmers, aged 8 - 11 years competing in the Notts ASA Stage 1 Trophy Gala. On the night Kimberley came 2nd against some tough opposition and after some last minute team changes.

Special mentions to Ruby Pocock and Daniel Horner on swimming their first gala for the club with Daniel also getting two personal bests.
Special mentions also to Leila Fletcher-Smith (x2), Amy Sheldon, Daniel Marriott, Dan Everall, Lucy Middleton and Matthew Jackson on their personals bests. Also to Lauren Shipley, Leila Fletcher-Smith and the girls 10/11yrs 4 x 50m freestyle relay team - Emma Stevenson, Jessica Shephard, Imogen Spouge and Lauren Shipley on their first places.

Midlands Championships - weekend two.

The second weekend of the Midland Age Group Championships 14th/15th June, saw Kimberley SC / Nova Centurion swimmers Jimi Knowles, Joseph Kingsland, Bradley Francis and Matthew Shipley in action again in a number of events.

Over the weekend all the swimmers had a number of top ten positions in a variety of events. Jimi was 2nd in the 100m fly and 100m free, 3rd in the 400m free and 4th in the 400m I/M, Joseph  was 3rd in the 400m I/M and 400m free, 4th in the 200m breaststroke gaining a National Qualifying time and 7th in the 100m free, Bradley was 2nd in the 100m fly, 3rd in the 1500m free, 5th in the 400m free, 6th in the 100m free and 9th in the 400m I/M and Matthew Shipley was 8th in the 200m backstroke, 100m free and 10th in the 400m I/M

After the final weekend based on the overall points from the best event in each of the categories (100's, form, individual medley and free) after some great swimming,
in the 10yrs age group Jimi Knowles finished 3rd, in the 11yrs age group Joseph Kingsland finished 3rd with Bradley Francis 8th and in the 12yrs age group Matthew Shipley finished 11th.

Well done to all KSC swimmers that competed.

Saturday Evening 28th June.

This is a reminder that there will not be any swimming on Saturday evening on the above date. This is because we have 2 galas at different venues so all available staff will be at one of these events.

The Saturday morning sessions remain unaffected.

Midlands Age Groups - Weekend One

The first weekend of the Midland Age Group Championships saw Kimberley SC / Nova Centurion swimmers, Jimi Knowles, Joseph Kingsland, Bradley Francis, and Matthew Shipley in action in a number of events along with Chloe Bis in the 100m backstroke. Both Jimi and Chloe competing in their first Regional Championships.

After the first weekend based on the overall points from the best event in each of the categories (100's, form, individual medley and free)
in the 10yrs age group Jimi Knowles is currently 3rd, in the 11yrs age group Bradley Francis is currently 4th and Joseph Kingsland 9th and in the 12yrs age group Matthew Shipley is currently 11th, but with lots of events still to come next weekend and some of the swimmers best events, the positions could all change.

Worksop Gala 07/06/2014

On Saturday the 7th of June, the youngsters from Kimberley Swimming Club travelled to Worksop to compete in Worksops annual Novice Gala. Three swimmers competed in their first ever gala, of hopefully many, for the club and gained personal bests in the process, so well done to - Thomas Palin, Tallulah Whiting and Dan Everall.

Personal bests were also achieved by - Caitlin Smith, William Francis, Annaleise Howell, Emily Bettridge, Robert Smith, Aaron Stanley (x2) Isobell Shephard,  Lewis Rounce, Ciaran Smith, Adam Rounce (x2) Amelia Morar-Sedgwick, Ella Maher, Will Moore, Amy Sheldon, Matthew Jackson and Ripley Manchester.

First places went to Caitlin Smith, Finley Bunhejee, Will Moore, Amy Sheldon, Matthew Jackson and to swimmers in 5 of the relays.

On the night Kimberley Swimming Club finished first - full points as detailed below -

Gladys Hull Gala 31/05/2014

Saturday the 31st of May saw Kimberley Swimming Club swimmers competing at Hucknall, in the Gladys Hull Trophy Gala, hosted by Arnold Swimming Club. This is a gala with a difference as there are a few mystery individual and relay events, where the swimmers don't know what stroke they are swimming, until the start of that particular race.

On the night the KSC team came 3rd which was good result given there had been a lot of team changes leading up to the night.

The following swimmers all gained personal bests -

Caitlin Smith, Matthew Jackson, Megan Hanson, Ben Barsby, Charly Pink, Greg Brown, Imogen Spouge, Matthew Fearn, Tyler Meads, Dan Knowles, Courtney Butters, Ciaran Smith, Isobell Shephard, Thomas Reeves, Jessica Shephard, Jessica Reeves, Isaac Moreledge, Jack Brown, Florence Orme, Harry Stevenson, Megan Rea and Lauren Shipley.

First places went to - Megan Hanson, Mathew Shipley, Thomas Reeves, Ted Goonan - Dunne, Ben Barsby, Jessica Reeves and the girls and boys 11/U mystery relay teams.

Special mentions go to Isobell Shephard who swam in her first gala, of hopefully many for the club.
