Volunteers needed
Once again we are putting a plea out for people to come and help on poolside.
We are always needing volunteers to help out at the club in any capacity especially on poolside and recent sessions have shown this to be an urgent requirement.
Please, Please help.
We do not want to cancel any sessions through having a lack of teachers, so please help out if you can.
If you wish to help out in any way please speak to the desk people, Jean or any of the poolside 'staff'

Christmas Outing 2013
We have had to alter the date of the proposed trip to Wheelgate Park to Sunday December 15th.
If anyone wants to come on the trip please put your names at the desk so we know how many to plan for. So far the response has been disappointing.
We try to cater for all ages on proposed trips so please help us by giving us ideas of what YOU want.
We are also booking some places for the pantomime at Mansfield - if they have places left for a club booking. The date has yet to be announced.
Please check at the desk for more details.

Outstanding Contribution by a Young Volunteer.
Last weekend Kimberley Volunteer Rebecca Barsby was invited to attend the ASA Gala dinner as a result of becoming the Aquaforce winner of the East Midlands Region, in the category - 'Outstanding Contribution by a Young Volunteer'.
The award given to an aquatics volunteer under the age of 25, in recognition that they've made a difference within aquatics and continue to be a role model, demonstrating a commitment of their personal time to support other club members/individuals.
Rebecca started at Kimberley at the age of 5 before gaining a place with Nova, at the age of 10, subsequently then spending 9 years with Nova finishing in Summer 2012, to have more time to focus on other roles and University work (and to have a lie in).
During her time on Nova Rebecca competed at a National and Senior National level for 5 years and at the Olympic trials, mainly in all the breaststroke events, but also the 200m and 400m IM, in addition to the 200m butterfly. Over the years she won many medals and trophies including Regional Championship trophies, finishing at Nova with a gold at the Youth Nationals doing the 100m breaststroke leg of the 4x100m medley relay.
Some years before finishing as a swimmer with Nova Rebecca helped out at local swimming and lifesaving clubs and also began volunteering with school disability swimming lessons through Nottingham City Council. Since Rebecca has been a volunteer coach with Nova, being mentored by the Nottingham coaches on all the squads and continues to volunteer there as well as the sessions she takes at Kimberley.
Well done Rebecca.

Helpers/ Volunteers Needed
We are still looking for people to help out at club sessions on poolside.
If you don't fancy volunteering in a teaching role, then please help out by spotting on the lanes.
We really need folks to help us to keep the swimmers safe in the water.
All poolside 'staff' will be asked to have a crb check as a rule for anyone 'working' with children.
These are free and can now be done online. Please ask Emma Poxon, Marie Bettridge or Jean for details.
Please help!!

Pool Closures in October and November
You may be aware from the Fixture List that there are four dates when there will be no swimming at Kimberley during October and November.
These are:
Sunday 13th October [it's the first week of Club Champs and as we'll all be at Hucknall and not finishing until late, there will be no staff available to take the sessions at Kimberley]
Sunday 3rd November [it's the second week of Club Champs]
Saturday Night 9th November [we're hosting our own Peter Pink Gala at Hucknall, so everyone will be there]
Saturday Night 16th November [it's our Presentation Night in the Main Hall at Kimberley - watch out for tickets on sale at the desk soon]
On the 8th December we hope to organise a trip to Wheelgate Park. There is a list on the desk where we would like you to register your interest so that we can make a booking.
Alternatively, perhaps you would like to go to a pantomime, or on a Santa special? Please let us know your preference so that we can make enquiries and/or a booking.
