Letter from Santa

1Reindeer Place
The North Pole
14th December 2012

Dear all the Swimmers, Parents and Teachers at Kimberley Swimming Club
I thought I would just drop a note to you all to say thanks for letting me pop into your Swimming Presentation Evening last week, It was lovely that so many of you came to visit me and give me some last minute hints about what you would like for Christmas.
I have also opened all of the letters that you posted to me last week now and I spent a very nice afternoon with Mrs Claus drinking hot chocolate and reading through your notes on Sunday.
Everything is very white and sparkly here at the North Pole because it’s been snowing again. Some of the elves are outside throwing snowballs and Rudolph and the other reindeers are building a snowman. I wonder if I will be able to find any room in my sleigh on Christmas Eve to bring some of that snow with me when I visit Nottinghamshire It would be such fun to sprinkle a little on you all for Christmas day, although I have to say I don’t think I will be able to drop any in Tenerife, for Ellie, Chloe and Hollie Bis, as I am sure it would have melted by the time you wake up on Christmas morning.
I have a special message for Kaine Priestly – Kaine - I recall I did not have your name of my list of good children last Saturday, but I have double checked with my chief elf and he assures me your name is definitely on the good boys list so you can expect me to visit on Christmas Eve, sorry I missed you from the list last week.
Now, a few words about the things you wrote on the letters you posted to me.
·         It seems that a lot of you boys are hoping to get “Skylanders” this year, so, Corey, Drew, Daniel, Joe, Tom, Oscar and others, I will see what I can do.
·         There are a number of you who seem to especially enjoy reading, that’s really great news and Heidi, Joshua who loves Percy Jackson and Macy I might have just what you are hoping for on Christmas Eve.
·         I am relieved to say I have a good stock of CD’s DVD’s Nintendo DS and Wii games for Emily, Dominic, Courtney, Katie, Coral and Georgia
·         Evie Poxon and Lee – I don’t think I will be able to manage what you have asked for since neither of you are on the good children list AGAIN this year. Try harder next year.
·         I have checked in my toy workshop and spotted that I have Gumball Machines, Baby Annabel Dolls, Charlie Bears,  All kinds of Hello Kitty stuff, Paint Boxes, Barbie Dolls, Disco Lights, Chocolate Coin Makers, Sequin Art Kits, Tatty Ted’s, and Racing Cars (any particular colour Tyler?) so that should keep Dana, Eve, Evie, Charlotte, Faye, Ellie, Ciara (not sure about high heel shoes, as you didn’t mention what size you need) Hollie, Freya, Mollie, Kelsie, Catherine, Zara, Saskia, Nina and Grace happy.
·         Josh who wants a Porsche 911 GT3 – I will do my best but I might need a lottery win to get one of these for you
·         Mobile phones, i.pad minis and i.pod touches are quite hard to get hold of this year, but I will keep trying Lauren, Ethan and Amy G.
Some of you didn’t actually mention what you would like to receive at Christmas so I think I will just bring some nice surprises for you Thomas, Amelia, Imogen, Chloe, Ella, Caitlin, Annie, Connie and Ellie K
Finally before I say goodbye to you all until Christmas Eve I need to let a couple of you whom I haven’t mentioned yet that your presents are too ambitious for me to attempt to get for you this year, so you need to re-think  what you would like, and you only have a few days to get your revised lists through to me.
Elliot C – I am not made of money and cannot afford to get you a soft top Mercedes, a private gym or a fancy house in Spain, and I am pretty sure you don’t need a “Hot House Maid,”  Think again sunshine!!
And Alan P – I would love to get you some new hair for Christmas, but I don’t think it would grow very well, so how do you fancy a few days off from swimming instead, and a bottle of beer.
Anyhow, now I must dash I have more presents to check and need to make sure the sleigh is shining as brightly as Rudolph’s nose before Christmas so I will say Goodbye for now and wish you all a very Happy Christmas
Lots of love and Christmas sparkle from
                       Santa Claus

If anyone can help “prepare” the awards on Sunday we can get into the mens dry side changing rooms to work from 10am on Sunday this week (2nd Dec) No idea how long this will take but any help is appreciated.
•    On the date of the presentation next sat (8th Dec) we can have access to the sports hall from 1pm to set up. Again any and all help is appreciated. please no small kids as there will be stuff everywhere and it could be dangerous, we will need help with the following.
o    Moving tables and chairs into place
o    Hanging drapes (if helpers have a small step ladder they can bring along with them it would be helpful)
o    Tables to decorate with covers etc,
o    Santas Grotto to put up
o    Awards to put out in correct order for presentation to winners.
o    “Christmas Props” to put in place and test to check they work.
o    Raffle to set up
o    General dogsbody work etc etc.
•    We will also need help at the end of the evening to remove all stuff from the sports hall as the Leisure Centre have a booking in there 1st thing on Sunday morning.

Thanks in advance.

Two requests from Nottinghamshire Sport

Dear All,

For the Nottinghamshire Sports Awards 2012 we would like to celebrate all the people from Nottinghamshire that have been involved with or were lucky enough to get tickets to go to the London Olympics and / or Paralympics.

To highlight the support that Nottinghamshire has contributed to the Games, we would like you to send us your pictures from the games so that we can use them as a backdrop for the awards. If there is anyone in your club who has been to the Olympics or Paralympics as a Gamesmaker or Official and have a picture in their uniforms or any members that have simply had tickets and got a photo in their Union Jack clothing, with flags or any merchandise at an Olympic venue or event, we want them!

Please send photos to the Nottinghamshire Sports Office email address sports@nottscc.gov.uk
