Time keeping Course

We have a number of parents taking part in a timekeeping , judge level one course.
Some Sunday squad sessions over the coming weeks will be sprint based whilst this course is taking place to allow those taking part to practice their timekeeping and judging of strokes, starts, turns etc.

Diddy League Time Trials 27th March

The time trials at Heanor on the 27th March are aimed for ALL SQUAD swimmers 12YRS old and younger (age as of 30th June 2011) and Lane 5 improvers swimmers and will consist of 25m Sprints for the 11yrs and under ages and 50m for the 12yr olds.

The first round of the Diddy League is on the 9th April at Braunstone.

Team selection will be based on the fastest swimmer at that event allowing for the usual restrictions on the number of swims a swimmer can do. It is possible the swimmer may only have one event but their contribution will be just as important as a swimmer doing 3 or 4 events. If selected for this gala /competition please make every effort to attend.

Novice Gala 17th April

NOVICE GALA PLUS 50m TIME TRIALS

The entries for our Novice Gala so far, are disappointingly low so we have decided to open up the gala to squad swimmers as 50m time trials. This will help us make maximum use of the 25 pool time we have booked at Hucknall on 17th April.
As a reminder
All children in the improver session – regardless of age are recognised as Novice’s and are eligible to participate and compete for awards.
All squad swimmers age 10 and under are also eligible to participate and compete for awards – provided they have never taken part in the Nottinghamshire County Championships.
If your child is in the main pool improver sessions, please encourage them to have a go at the Novice Gala, no matter what Lane they are in.
This is their gala and they have a chance of winning medals to recognise their achievements.
Small pool children may also enter in the wiggly worm and kicking with a float event. (a competent swimmer will be in the pool in every lane if required to make sure our swimmers are not overwhelmed by their race)
It is expected that all Lane 5 improver session swimmers take part.

The annual Novice Gala is a chance for our up and coming swimmers to show what progress they are making and for the club to record real gala event times which help us pick our gala squads for this years club competition gala’s

The 50m Time Trials (plus 100m I/M) are aimed mainly at the 12yr and under swimmers though older swimmers can take part if they feel they need some up to date times
or have a pink T Shirt to aim for!

Volunteers are wanted to help out at the gala for all roles.…..We are in desperate need for a volunteer to do the announcing.
Please note if you don’t have a ‘job’ to do at the gala you will not be allowed on poolside.
