Minor Gala League Round Two 30/01/2010

Tonight we travelled to Retford for the second round of the Minor Gala League.

Another tough draw saw us once again finish 4th.

There were p.bs for Josie Henderson 50m Back and 50m Free, Josh Housley 50m Breast, Brydie Niblett 200m Free, Mollie Wright 50m Fly, Ryan Pigott 50m Back, Dominic Southall 50m Breast and 50m Fly, Georgia Petch 50m Breast,Charly Neilson 50m Breast and Jack Brown 200m Free. - well done all.

First places went to Mollie Wright 50m Fly and 200m Free, Emma Clements 50m Fly Georgia Stirland 50m Back, and the relay teams of Georgia Stirland, Josie Henderson,Georgia Petch and Mollie 4x25m Medley and Ben Lickman, Sam McGrenhagan, Ryan Pigott and Scot Lindley 4x25m Medley.

Special mention tonight goes to Jack Brown .. a near 6 second p.b at 200m Free and Georgia Petch ... a near 4 seconds off her 50m Breast time and the bus driver for providing us with a few scary moments as well as few laughs!!

Results

Well done to all the swimmers for their efforts. Could have been a few more first places if we learnt how to finish properly on backstroke as well as turn quickly!!!

Spring Competition Round One 23/01/2010

In the first round of the Notts A.S.A Spring Competition we had another tough gala and finished 5th with only 5 points between third place Leander and ourselves.

P.B.s were achieved by Robyn Beecham 100m I/M, Georgia Stirland 50 Free, Josie Henderson 50m Back, Emma Stephenson 50m Breast,Nick Boston 100m Free, Ryan Pigott 25m Fly, Frank Hemingray 50m Free, Daniel Knowles 100m I/M, Mollie Wright 100m I/M and two p.bs for Lauren Gill at 100m Back and 100m Free - well done all.

No dqs which is always pleasing.

Special mention tonight go to Jasmine Fahy, Charly Pink, Heidi Frost and Tia Stirland for winning both their relays,the girls recording fastest times on their relay splits, as did the boys 9/unders .... Sharon said I must mention my Charly for not losing her stroke despite losing her goggles -on backstroke...mmm?
Other first places were achieved by Lauren Gill in both her individual events - 100m Free and 100m Back, Georgia Stirland - 50m Free, Charly Neilson - 50m Breast and Ryan Pigott - 25m Fly.

Minor Gala League Round One 16/01/10

Last night saw the return of competitive swimming for the club after the Christmas break in the first round of the Minor Gala League.
We were only able, for various reasons, to take two thirteen year old boys and one twelve year old, which meant plenty of swimming up for the 10 and 11yr olds.
We came 4th on the night, 9 p.bs, 2 p.bish, and no first places.

P.bs were achieved by Georgia Petch and Ryan Pigott 2 x 25m Fly/Back, Brydie Niblett, Charly Neilson and Cameron Halliday 50m Breaststroke, Scott Lindley and Mollie Wright 200m Free,
Mollie Wright 50m Fly, Ben Lickman 50m Back and a very impressive 6 seconds off his p.b time for Daniel Scott at 50m Fly, in his first gala for the club.

Well done to all for their efforts.

The next round is on the 30th January.
